AOC Demolition have completed a variety of strip out and structural alteration projects including projects in sensitive environments such as University complex's, City Centre and hospital structures.

We were appointed by Willmott Dixon Construction to complete the strip out and structural alteration works to Bolton Albert Halls, the Grade II listed building which proudly stands in the heart of Bolton town centre.

Essential to this project was that the works must not impact on the building, so everything was completed by hand using traditional tools to ensure the preserved areas were unaffected. Working with extreme care and caution over 5 weeks, our specialist team removed the redundant fixtures and fittings, deconstructed internal walls and removed all materials produced from site for further segregation.

As a result of our initial works, Wilmott Dixon were able to transform the building into a revitalised, modern public venue, and went on to win Project of the Year in the £0m-£10m value category at the Construction News awards.

A Yorkshire construction company Harris CM contacted us to carry out structural alterations to the former regional head office of Lloyd’s Bank on Park Row in Leeds. Throughout the duration of the 6-month project, the team had to work around the restrictions of the bustling city centre to remove the external walls of the building following the installation of a brand-new steel structure. We also carried out the careful removal of the granite cladding, which was set aside for reuse.

Built in the early 1970's, the 12-storey building is at the intersection of Bond Street, close to Leeds railway station and Trinity Leeds shopping centre, a busy area to say the least. In addition to the active public around the area, there were also various traders onsite whilst our works were being carried out; something we made sure to be mindful of and work carefully around.

Now our structural alterations are complete, it makes way for a comprehensive refurbishment of the building, which will create 553sqm of additional floor-space and two new entrances. The new-found space will be converted into Grade A standard office accommodation on the upper floors, and the ground floor will become a restaurant
